It really took me surprise when a NASA employee took hostages and started to open fire. This isn’t really something you would expect out of a NASA employee for christ sakes!
HOUSTON - A NASA contract worker armed with a handgun killed a hostage and then himself after a nearly four-hour standoff Friday in an office building at Johnson Space Center, Houston police said.
The slain hostage, a man, was shot in the chest and was likely to have been shot “in the early minutes of the whole ordeal,” Police Capt. Dwayne Ready said. Initial reports indicated two shots were fired at about 1:40 p.m. CDT and another shot was heard about 5 p.m.
A second hostage, a woman, escaped after being bound to a chair with duct tape, Ready said.
I really fear that all of the coverage this Virginia Tech bozo is getting from the media is going to encourage other people, knowing full well it will get their face plastered all over the world for several weeks and certainly give any cause they have publicity.

I was thinking of posting this earlier, but they didnt have this much detail yet, only that someone was seen with a gun. Its really sad that this v-tech BS has convinced many more psychos to go public. Bullets in the trash at my friends school, Andrew from gamelife sending the letters to his GF, and now this.

Yep. there’s really no doubt in my mind. These people see pictures of Cho doing stupid poses with guns and shit on the cover of every newspaper and news website. That can be a big motivator for people with complexes who want the world to ‘know how bad they hurt them’ and shit.
And yeah, the Andrew shit was fucked up.
Man, FUCK YOU MEDIA AND YOUR PERPETUAL CIRCUS OF NEGATIVITY.

All things like this do are increase security, and make everything take more time.
But really now, has the airlines increase in security really made people feel any safer?

We don’t need more security. Security = government control = police state.
Nobody is safe, no matter where you go. You could get hit by a car, get shot, get struck by lightning, die in a fire etc. Tightening ’security’ will not protect you, it will just give the people in power more control over you.
Do you really want to live in a police state because a few people got killed by a psychotic?
